27 Mar The Oldham Council Music School is in “tune” with the times!
Have you ever walked down Union Street and wondered what was inside this Building?
Tour.Media & Google are lucky enough to give you the chance as they explored and produced a Virtual Tour inside the iconic Lyceum building in Oldham
The two ‘double cube’ buildings dominate Union Street and are arguably the finest public buildings in the town centre. The Lyceum was the first to be constructed in 1856 and was followed in 1881 by the School of Science and Art – Oldham Historical Research Group
Today the Lyceum is home to The Oldham Music Service which is committed to supporting and fulfilling the musical aspirations of all young people living in the borough (in and out of school), and engaging people of all ages in a variety of exciting musical activities – Greater Manchester Music Hub
The Google Virtual Tour was created just before the Music School’s 50th anniversary celebrations. The black tie event was the perfect opportunity for Tour.Media to show the world this spectacular buildings potential as a venue. Wedding and birthday celebrations are the obvious, however the building could cater for any large idea.
The project is not fully integrated to Google yet however you can have a sneak preview here – SEE INSIDE
Daryl Jackson founder of Tour.Media commented about the project “We are incredibly honoured to be included in the promotion of one of Oldham’s most iconic buildings. I personally love the structure from the architecture to the interior decor, the lovely classic staircase and spacious rooms. I can’t wait for the people of Oldham to see the potential for themselves.”
